Quarterly Incomings: Summer 2010!!

July 4th, 2010 by TheMissingNin

Summer’s here. And whilst it’ll be good to get a couple of weeks off, I’ll still have to suffer through months of my nose dripping mucus like a broken tap, often unbearable heat, and see fucking kids running about rubbing my face in there obscene amounts of free time.

At least there’s some sweet games coming out…

2nd APB PC Realtime Worlds
9th Battlefield 1943 PC DICE
9th Crackdown 2 X-Box 360 Ruffian Games
27th Alan Wake: The Signal (DLC) X-Box 360 Remedy
27th Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty PC Blizzard
Sometime Limbo XBLA Play Dead

There a nice swathe of titles this month – not too many, not to little.

APB is already out, and I’ll be checking it out good and proper now that I have the capabilities to play it on high settings.

Battlefield 1943 is coming out for the PC and I suggest that anyone who missed it check it out. It isn’t quite Bad Company 2 as far as scope – but it’s probably the best WW2 Multiplayer I’ve ever played in a VERY long time. I might pick it up again if this version offers more maps.

Crackdown 2 hits on the same day and I’ll be picking it up for sure – the demo convinced me of that, though I’ll be holding off on playing it until I’ve completed my new experiment. The same goes for the Alan Wake DLC, which is hopefully the first of many more, and hopefully is as full of narrative as the main game is.

Lastly there’s the game that’s going to end Korean productivity, and hopefully some of mine. Starcraft 2’s finally coming out, and not only is it hitting the week I’m on holiday, luckily for me I’ve already preordered that ridiculous Collectors Edition.

Limbo looks amazing – though there isn’t a solid date, it is part of Xbox’s Summer of Arcade deals, so it should come out within the next 4 weeks. GiantBomb did a Quick Look of the game right HERE, you should check it out.

27th Mafia 2 PC, PS3, X360 2K Games
27th Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days PC, PS3, X360 IO Interactive

Super slim pickings this month. I’m not even sure if I’ll get either of these titles – I’ll have to wait for the reviews to come out first.

Thankfully, Starcraft should keep us all busy, and failing that – there’s always WoW.

September 2010

Date Name Platform Made By…
3rd Dead Rising: Case Zero XBLA Capcom
14th Halo Reach Xbox 360 Bungie
Sometime Blacklight: Tango Down XBLA, PSN, PC Ignition Entertainment
Sometime Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Ep1 XBLA, PSN, PC Sega
Sometime Shank XBLA, PSN, PC Klei Entertainment
Sometime Alan Wake: The Writer (DLC)

I’m not 100% sure if I’ll be into Dead Rising 2 yet – it looks cool, but I was severly burned by it’s extreme Japanese-ness last time round. But I do like what Capcom’s doing with Case Zero. It’s basically a 3+hour prologue to the main game, bridging the gap between the first title and introducing the mechanics and some of the story for the second. I hope it does alright, because I’d like to see other games give this a go.

And I suppose we should call the 14th the beginning of the Winter Rush, starting with Halo Reach – which I am eagerly anticipating. It’s really the Campaign I want to get into here, and then again on Legendary :D

Rounding off this quarter is a bunch of sweet looking downloadable games (these might actually be out sooner than September – I couldn’t find hard dates). Blacklight has a bit of a Battlefield 2142 meets Modern Warfare 2 vibe going for it, and I’m all for that – I’m hoping that it has the Battlefield 1943 Effect.

Sonic is back – and it’ll be interesting to see if the ‘Hog can resurrect his franchise again – but this is the last chance he get’s right? If he can’t make it back in his 2D home front then there’s no hope for him. Also take note that this is the first “Episode” of Sonic 4, so you know that Sega’s going beat the shit out of this horse until we’re all sick of it… and then keep going anyway.

Shank looks cool, and that’s all I really know about it to say – no, I’d say it looks very cool.

And finally there’s more Alan Wake DLC, which leaves a nice gap between the first.

=======================================================================

And that’s it for the summer – and you know that next quarter it’s just going to be utter Mayhem with christmas  and the crazy American holidays just round the corner. But for now let us enjoy what’s looking to be a solid summer of multiplayer action.

Until then, I’m off to enjoy my Sunday – I got Counterstrike Source, TF2 and APB Downloaded yesterday for my PC, so I’m sorted.

E3 2010: Final Day’s Web Trawl & Conclusion

June 20th, 2010 by TheMissingNin

So It’s all over for another year. There wasn’t much news coming out on the last couple days of the show, but I did find some things of interest – let’s dig in.

I would normally never link to Gamespot – but their E3 coverage is rather extensive, to the point that they get some stuff other outlets don’t. The best thing I found from them this year is a stage demo of Fallout: New Vegas which you can see right HERE. It looks really far removed from Fallout 3, and I’m not sure if that’s a positive or a negative. But having a Vault in the game that has been converted into a post-apocalyptic Casino? I’m sold.

As well as next week’s Medal of Honour It-isn’t-really-but-they’re-calling-it-Beta-Beta Microsoft are giving us a Crackdown 2 Demo on Monday which I will completely check out. I’m somewhat sold on the game but it’s been a long time since I played Crackdown I think I’ll need to feel it for myself.

Joystiq reports that Alan Wake’s DLC is going to hit the Marketplace at the reasonable price of just under 600 Ms Points – which is about £5. That’s pretty cool, especially when Map Packs are going for £10 these days.

Giantbomb has a great demo on their site for Dead Rising 2 that was somewhat absent from major announcements throughout the show. Again I’m not 100% sold on the game given the problems I had with the first title. But the Downloadable Prologue game is something I think I’m going to have to check out for sure – purely to taste the concept.

Hidden away over on Gametrailers is what must be the first proper gameplay footage of Rage. In motion it looks utterly fucking amazing – I suggest you click the link HERE and watch it in HD. The similarities to Borderlands are apparent, but it looks a heck of a lot more like a proper FPS.

=====================================================================

E3 In Conclusion

Godzilla Sized Kevin Butler on the side of the convention Center

So I wouldn’t say that this was the best E3 there’s been. I could probably say with some agreement that it was probably the worst for gamers there’s ever been. The focus this year was certainly less about the Gears, Gods and fighters of War and more about the infamous Waggle.

Everyone had some sort of Motion controller to show, and along with it a major slap of casual software to go along with it – and that’s not what we want. And it’ll probably be a while before we see some proper gamey games out of this – it’s taken this long for people to properly try putting hardcore games onto the Wii.

It’s all very much up in the air. We know what the Wii is – some of us have been burned by it – and it’s that sort of experience we’ve got in the back of our minds – regardless of how great the technology is we won’t truly know how “amazing” it is until we can try it for ourselves.

The hardcore’est motion games there are probably Sorcery for the PS3 and Dance Central for the 360 – and to say they could be in the same league as Oblivion or Rock Band is a joke. From where I was sitting – half a world away – it really took enough light away from the proper games of the show.

3D was also a major proponent of the show – but I have no desire in the near future to buy a completely new TV with accompanying eyewear. The Nintendo 3DS is certainly more reasonable, but it’ll be until us plebs can see it for ourselves in a HMV demo kiosk. Also, when it comes to DS’s, I’ve been badly burnt before.

That’s not to say that there weren’t great games shown – but much of that came in known quantities. There’s no reason to doubt that Gears 3, Halo Reach, Fable 3, Killzone 3, Portal 2 – I could go on – are going to be great games, and it probably best that we don’t know the twists and turns those games will have for us.

And then there was the stuff that wasn’t there. X-Com and the new Deus Ex looked really interesting – and there were plenty of people willing to talk about the game, but no proper gameplay to be seen. Sony kept harping on about the PSP and failed to show whatever the PSP2 is – and I think we all know that it exists somewhere – It could’ve been a great chance to beat Nintendo to the Punch. Mass Effect 3 would probably have made me jizz in my pants if it were shown. Maybe it’s too soon - we all know it’s not-not in development. Arkham Asylum 2 was also sadly absent from the show – let’s hope that Rocksteady get all the time they need to make another stellar Batman game.

So doom saying aside, what stood out to me? Here’s 5 games to keep an eye on:

Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood upped the ante with some multiplayer action that takes a lot more strategy into account than I expected, and all bolted on to the continuation of Ezio’s story and world from AC2 – which given the pace of the franchise, would’ve been sad never to see again before AC3.

Looking at Ghost Recon: Future Soldier reminds me of the first time we saw GRAW back in the early days of the 360, all shiny and full of new concepts for third person shooting that really kicked off the “cover shooter” genre. A Franchise reboot was really what it needed to remain relevant – and taking it into the “near-future” is a rather bold move that I really like.

Medal of Honour is certainly going to be an attempt on MW2’s golden halo, and it may certainly get the chance now that we know there will never be a true sequel to that game. It looks like a great balance between the two current extremes of the genre – from MW2’s close up infantry combat to Bad Company 2’s sprawling destructive battlefields.

Dark Millennium Online was a bit of a surprise, and we still know pretty much nothing about the game – but it’s good for me as a long time 40K fan to see that Sigil has nailed the style of the franchise, and is ready to start showing it off on it’s way to a future release.

Crysis 2 continues to look amazing, and if it does in fact run on a console the way Crytek has been saying

As for show coverage – Giantbomb takes the cake for being informative and entertaining at the same time. I suggest you check out their video coverage or load up the epic-long post-day Podcasts.

So that’s it for another year. I have no idea what to think will be happening in 12 months time - but I think we’ve been shown enough quality product to keep up through the winter months and into another packed spring next year.

It’s still good to be a gamer.

=====================================================================

And Other Stuff…

So good things rarely happen to me these days – so allow me to take stock for a moment. That jar you see to the left there is full of cash I’ve been putting into it since the glory days of 2007. I cracked it open – with my hammer - to reveal about £1250. So yeah, I think I’ll be able to afford that new PC.

I’ve had a hard time figuring out what was the best thing to do, and I’m not sure I’ve completely figured it out yet myself. I thought that the best way was to just get some company to build it and send it to me – though the last time that happened I got a little screwed. The PC I bought to go off to Uni with got sent back to the company after a couple of weeks due to some failure that was never fully explained to me, and two years ago, said PC gave up the goose to an epic fault that killed the Motherboard and Power supply, because the “suggested” PSU wasn’t the right one – and by this time the company had ceased it’s existence and taken my 4-Year warranty with it. Man, just typing about it tweaks my rage.

So I things have gone a bit full circle and I’m just going to nerd-up and build it myself. The internet has been a goldmine of crap and somewhat solid information. The best thing I found was Tom’s Hardware’s “How To Build a PC” article, that is periodically updated since 1997. It runs through just about everything I think I need to know – and more importantly fills me with enough confidence to go through with it. I figure I’ve got enough extra “Danger Cash” to take care of any catastrophes.

Anyway, I’ve put together a parts list and this is it:

All the links there go to Ebuyer – just for convenience, but I will shop around a little before buying. The general consensus I get from this is that the PC will not explode, or implode when I put it together, and it will leave some room for future upgrades when it comes to that. The Graphics card isn’t really specific either, though I’m told that a Radeon 5850 will work really well at the resolution I use – 1200×1080.

So has anyone got any opinions on this? I’m unbelievably eager to get going with this once the cash hits the bank, which I’m hoping will be tomorrow.

In other news I spent the weekend gaming of all things. I finished Modern Warfare 2 on Veteran – which was a kick in the balls despite how little time it took me. I finished Red Dead Redemption, which is to say I saw the Credits, there’s a ton of open world stuff left to do that I’m not really in the mood for right now. And man, what an awesome ending for the game – The last 1/3 of the game is an utter gem, and wholly worth

I also picked up Darksiders again then immediately put it down – or rather literally locked it away in the cupboard over the course of about an hour. That game is ridiculous, full stop. I utterly refuse to suffer through the bullshit the game is constantly throwing out there.

But now I’m back in the Capital Wastelands. With New Vegas coming in a couple of months that I’d better play Fallout 3 before I’m shown the west-coast wonder. I’ve only got 7 Achievements left to get before I 100% the game, and you can see exactly what HERE.

I think the worst of it is that I feel a little compelled to revisit the game on the PC and pick up all those achievements all over again.

And that’s that. Next blog update will be next Saturday – unless I get the urge to write a Red Dead Redemption review. Then after that I’ll get back on schedule with the Deck Cheffery, which I would say I’ve got about another 3 decks to go before I take a major break. I’ll also be keeping up with how things are going with putting this PC together, and some more deets about the related PC gaming experiment.

E3 2010: Day 4 Web Trawl

June 17th, 2010 by TheMissingNin

Bit of a Mini-Edition before the show’s finale tomorrow (plus I am so freaking tired likesrslyyouhavenoideas)

I don’t think you could go to any gaming website this week and not see and ad for Deus Ex: Human Revolution – despite the fact that all we’ve seen of the game is a trailer of non-gameplay footage. Joystiq has a video interview up with a couple of the developers – two French dudes -  which you can see right HERE. They really spend most of the time talking about the things surrounding the game, like how it is to work on a sequel to such a reverent title. One thing’s for sure: it sure sounds like Deus Ex – from what I can gather from my limited knowledge of the franchise.

Sony’s new VP of Awesome put the icing on the cake that was the Sony Press Conference. I know many of you don’t watch the show in it’s entirety, so here is the clip embedded for your pleasure. Sony’s had some… Unappealing advertising over the years, I hope they keep Mr Butler employed for as long as they can.  You may have seen him before

And for reference, HERE is Olivia Munn in Lara Croft attire.

Along the same lines as me not knowing “enough” about Deus Ex, I also know fuck all about X-COM. But whatever: The trailer for the new X-COIM game looks awesome – I suggest you watch it HERE and put it in Hi-Def. It’s got that Bioshocky, 1950’s style creepiness about it that just pulls me in. This game is officially on my watchlist.

Finally, Joystiq’s got a new Trailer for “I Am Alive” – and it looks as good as it is utterly fucking mysterious. You remember I Am Alive right? Well If I can remember correctly it’s the game that’s being made by a splinter group of the original Assassin’s Creed studio of Ubisoft Montreal. Anyway check it out HERE. At least we know the game exists in a non FMV form as the trailer appears to be very much in-game.

Alright, I’m off t…ZzZzZzzzZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…

E3 2010: Day 3 Web Trawl

June 16th, 2010 by TheMissingNin

Let’s hop to it!

The first thing I found I actually grabbed late last night, I’ve got a Warhammer double for you. First up is the new trailer for Space Marine, which you can see HERE. I’m really excited for this game as it has the opportunity to show the awesomeness of the 40K universe from a very unique perspective – and tell an awesome story at the same time. It’s looking like a Gears of War and God of War mash up on the Third Person Action Genre, but sadly I think it won’t make a 2010 release date.

Secondly there’s the unveiling teaser trailer for “Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online” – which may very well be the best MMO name ever. And you can catch the trailer right HERE. There’s very little we can gleam from this trailer: We know there’s going to be vehicle combat of some kind, and you can see that the Art style is spot on for the franchise – but I’m seeing elements of RTS and Third Person Shooting in there. I dug around a little more and the developer’s site says we’ll find out more in August at the gamescom show. It also reminded me that I really should sit down and play Darksiders some time – which was Vigil Games’ first project.

Hidden in the pile of new game videos is a short teaser for the first Alan Wake DLC, and it confirms that this new content will continue the character’s story, and throw in some new gameplay elements for good measure. You can check that trailer HERE, though a die-hard spoiler free Alan Wake fan would just take my word for it.

In addition to the new information we got a couple of days ago – that blizzard are going back on their word for a lot of already previewed things for the Cataclysm Expansion. We get a look at some new footage from the revamped capital cities. Orgrimmar is looking super-swanky. Check it out HERE. I must say, I’m a little disappointed in some of the stuff they cut from the expansions – but I guess you’ve just got to trust that blizzard is going to put out another quality product.

Massively’s got a new trailer for Black Prophecy – and it continues being a game that looks like it’s more fun than eve, but possibly lacking somewhat in depth. I did lol a little when the trailer touts “Dramatic Cutscenes” as one of it’s bullet points – but it’s pretty epic. I suppose the greatest surprise to myself is that the game is at some capacity “Free to Play”. It also makes me really want to buy a flight stick for my PC.

Kotaku and Giantbomb are both reporting that there’s a Fallout MMO Beta sign up site out there – but it looks a little shady to me, along the lines of “we’re going to pretend to be you and get a bunch of credit cards”. It’s only Day 1 proper of E3 now, so I’ll wait to reserve some judgement, but I’d really like to see some game before I put some deets into a shady URL. “Fallout-on-line.com” – yeah, I find it odd that they couldn’t get something a little less dash-less.

In the Epic Fail category we get a first look at Magic the Gathering Tactics (not sure where to put the colon in that name) from WotC and SOE. Quite frankly, if Wizards can’t make an acceptable digital carbon copy of the original game, they shouldn’t be allowed to make video games PERIOD. I mean for fucks sake – it doesn’t even use pictures of the cards – isn’t that kinda the point? And thank you very much for the revolting modelling. Massively – for some reason (I didn’t hear it was an MMO) has the scoop right HERE.

Ubisoft is dropping some knowledge about Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood’s multiplayer in a new trailer as seen HERE. It features an interesting assassination mode that reminds me of the not too old to forget game/source engine mod “The Ship”. Seems pretty cool, and not removed too far from the main tenants of the franchise’s single player component. Still no proper details on the game’s Co-op modes.

In another trailer, RIGHT HERE, Bungie unveils to no surprise that Firefight will return in Halo Reach. I don’t truly know how cool this is – because *EMOFACE* I couldn’t find any bros to play with in ODST. However through this trailer we get a sweet confirmation of the return of the Bubble shield in some capacity and MAC Cannon support – think hugely destructive Battlefield style airstrikes – or rather “Spacestrikes

News from the show has been rather lacking on the APB front, but Realtime Worlds has announced that for the open beta players will receive an additional 5 hours of gametime in the action districts. And Massively’s got a rather estute impressions article up which you should check out if you are interested in the game right HERE. I’m a little worried that the game wasn’t talked about at the EA Conference to be honest – you think that they’d want to pimp the game out a little – infact MMO’s weren’t really talked about at all at any of the press Conferences were they? Hrmmm…

Anyhoos – that’s what I’ve trawled from the internet over the past 24 hours. I’ll be back tomorrow with more news and crap from E3 2010. Now I’m off to cool the fuck down. It’s really hot in here AND I’VE ALREADY TAKEN OFF ALL MY CLOTHES.

E3 2010: Sony Press Conference Semi-Live Blog

June 15th, 2010 by TheMissingNin

We’re about T-Minus 40 minutes away from the start of Sony’s E3 show – the final Press Conference of the show. Sony’s got to bring the big guns this round. Riddle me this? How many big titles do you know of that Sony is releasing in the latter part of the year? Well apart from LBP2, not much really. Let’s hope we get to see something special.

As for the hardware side, I expect a PSP2 Unveiling and I hope beyond everything that it’s got two freaking analogue sticks. I guess by the end of the day we’ll all know.

To save myself the horrors that was Ubisoft’s Live show of 2009, I scoured a couple of live-blogs for the details. In summary there was a crazy Kinect Rez like game from the creator of Rez. called Child of Eden. There was live demos of Assassin’s Creed BRUTHERHOOD and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

AC Brotherhood looks like more of the same from AC2, continuing the story of Ezio and his beard, with the addition of new 4 player co-op, though the exact details are unclear – regardless I’m up for more AC2 no matter what.

Future Soldier really surprised me – it looks a lot like splinter cell in the way the characters move and interact. Seems like you switch between first and third person on the fly, helpful for much of the precision shooting the game employs. It would be great to see some 4-player co-op missions, as there seems to be some kind of aggro management going on, but maybe that’s just me. I’m always a sucker for Future – as opposed to Science Fiction – warfare.

Anyhow, the Sony presser is about to start, let’s see how it goes.

===================================================================

- 20:00 - Whoa, that’s a sharp start there, the legendary Jack Tretton is on stage giving an intro, and Kaz joins him on stage. Going to be talking about 3D. All PS3 is 3D enables through software update, Getting the idea that this is going to be taking up a huge chunk of the show.

- Killzone 3 Live Demo. (it;s in 3D), the demo is in 3D too, but I guess they’ve turned it off for us watching at home. Most noticeable UI change – damage indicators are a lot more accurate. Plenty of dudes on Jetpacks. DAMMIT they haven’t killed off Rico yet – he was the worst things about Killzone 2. Player gets to use Jetpacks too. Can’t comment on Graphical quality due to feed – but it looks a lot like Killzone 2. Decent applause from the audience on demo closure. Coming out in February next year. Compatible with Playstation Move on launch. No word on Multiplayer though = SADFACE.

- Kaz is back to talk about 3D - Announces Gran Tourismo 3 in 3D. Mortal Kombat, Ghost Recon, the Tron 2 game and Crysis 2 will also be in 3D. One last 3D video for everyone – Just a 3D demo reel. Lol, lots of obvious “oh no this object is coming right at your face!” moments.

- Jack’s back on stage. We’re getting a show of Playstation Move. Reel showing Developer Impressions – the basics of it is “Wii and Kinect can suck out light-balls”. Talking about putting the Move version of a game on the same disk as the regular title – mitigating the risk of publishers putting out a dedicated title – pretty smart bro. New PSMove game reveals.

- “Sorcery”, generic sounding fantasy game for Move. You play a Sorcerers Apprentice going through a magical world of blah blah. Technical Difficulties in the stream here. Motion looks pretty immersive. Game looks like a standard Zelda affair with the style of Kameo (remember that 360 launch title?) Looks kinda cool – shame about the generic-ness of it.

- Now talking about sports, so I’ll get a break to eat my supper (Steak pie and mash FYI). Tiger woods game – not like the South Park game sadly. Available as a title update when the Move launches.

- “Heroes on the Move” – Rachet, Jak and Sly in the same game? No proper details, but looks like a platformer. Now he’s talking about the marketing campaign?

- Haha Kevin Butler is on stage. EPIC. Talking mess about Microsoft. Quite possibly the greatest character Sony has ever created. Also quite possibly the greatest Press Conference speech ever made. They should make him president of gaming.

- Launch details for Move – Europe in September 15th. Move Controller at $49,99 – Bundle for $100 with game and eye camera– huge applause from audience. Haha, Time Crisis Game. A couple of games getting functionality patched in. Roll trailer reel.

- Jack’s back. New PSP trailer featuring Kevin Butler and a kid from the streetz. Kinda makes me feel bad for not playing my PSP more. Jack’s talking about known PSP games. New God of War game. Haven’t seen anything proper new yet. 70 new titles coming to PSP by the end of the year.

- Now talking about Playstation Network. 50Million registered accounts globally. Hahaha Season 2 of “The Tester” coming soon.

- Live demo of Little Big Planet 2. Looks really cool – receives probably the best applause so far.

- Adding optional Subscriptions to PS Network - “Playstation Plus” – same price as a Xbox Live Gold subscription but gives you a lot of free games, launches this month, and will come with Wipeout HD.

- Dude with an epic beard is on stage talking about Medal of Honour. Coming on June 28th a series of interview videos with real Tier 1 Operators. Game coming out October 12th. Now talking about Dead Space 2 – Live Demo, continuation of Demo from the EA Event Yesterday. Both games getting exclusive collectors editions.

- WUT WAT WAT !?!?!? GABE NEWELL IN THE FUCKING HOUSE PORTAL 2.!!! Emergency Surprise system deployed indeed. Portal 2 coming to the PS3, the game is getting some sort of Steam Integration. Portal 2 Trailer. Looks awesome. Coming in 2011, no month confirmed. (I’ll still totally be playing it on a PC tho :P)

- New Video of Final Fantasy 14. ARE YOU READY TO BE GRINDAN SHIT LIKE YOU’VE NEVER GROUND SHIT BEFORE!!?!?! nothankyou.jpg

- Mafia 2 getting some day 1 exclusive content.

- Assassins Creed Brotherhood getting Exclusive content, and Exclusive Beta. Getting a Multiplayer Trailer now, All in game. Can’t tell if this is competitive or cooperative.

- Treated to a big third-party Trailer Reel

- It’s now the part of the show where every year they show us some Gran Tourismo.

- inFamous 2, Don’t think that’s Cole as the lead character, different voice actor Totally new City – I’m guessing New Orleans meets Paris kind of setting. New powers, Ice powers confirmed.

- Jack’’s back with one more surprise: Twisted Metal Confirmed. This is a big deal i guess??? Hey look it’s David Jaffe! Getting a live demo. Dude that’s a Helicopter. That sure is a car combat game.

- and it’s over.

===================================================================

You know that was a decent show. But what can I take away from it? Well, Killzone 3 looks cool, and so does Little Big Planet 2. But when it comes to 3D and Motion Gaming, I still don’t really care. And I was really surprised that they didn’t say a thing about a new PSP.

Valve putting Portal 3 on a PS3 is a rather amazing surprise, along with some sort of cryptic steam integration. I hope we get to see how this deal came together at some point (i.e. how many money trucks did they drive into Valve? Lol).

But what surely stole the whole Kevin Butler skit.

From tomorrow onwards until the end of the show I’ll be putting up blog posts each day with some of the coolest stuff I’ve seen from across the web from the E3 Show floor. And at the weekend I’ll be doing a round up post and a “10 best videos” post like I did last year. So all two of you – keep F5’s at the ready.
