Serious Archmage is Serious…

I’m sorry (this is really an apology to myself) that I haven’t been posting alot lately - twitter or otherwise. Shit’s been busy around here. I’ve barely played WAR enough as I wanted to. But Caturday is nearly upon us, and I think we all know what that means. The guild is up, has been for a couple of days, and everything is going smoothly (except for recurring CROSH TO DOSKTOP and OTHONTICOTION FOLD OPPLOCOTION WOLL NOW TORMONOTE). When I checked yesterday, we were 2/3 of the way to G-Rank 5, when we’ll get our first battle standard. You’re very welcome to join us, information on the poster above these words, and if I know you, tell me so, and you’ll get auto-bumped to an officer position. That’s just how we roll. “Serious Business”, I think is a pretty decent, and not so much lore breaking, name. Especially compared to the other choises. Ironically, Serious Business (shortenable to “SrsBsns”, “SBsns”, “Seriose Bisnez” in lolcat form, or “SORIOS BOSNOSS” in Fronk form) isn’t really serious at all, we’re just a group of friends, friends of friends and old WoW-Buddies. If you fall into this catagory I urge you to join us.I’m enjoying my Archmage for the moment, but I’m starting to want to play other classes, specifically a Witchunter and less so an Engineer. I’ll maybe go back and do it when Rin hit’s Rank 20 (at time of publish Rin is Rank 17). Though, the whole “fuck the strong guys, let’s gank the healer” attitude is annoying me a little. A more ninja like approach is needed. The guild, myself included, hypothesised that there would be a nice content patch around the same day that the new WoW expansion (I’m srsly dredging care here). Or maybe an ingame event. Maybe the remaining character classes. If you’re all about the Destro, allow me to try and sway you to the side of Order. In WoW, The good guys are the Alliance, and the Bad Guys are the Horde, who aren’t really bad guys, but only bad guys because the good guys said so, hence not bad guys - just a little less humanoid than Purple Human tall, Human Human, Human Short and Human Shorter. In WAR, the Good guys are Order, and the Bad Guys are Destruction, and the bad guys are actually bad, and the good guys are only good because the bad guys are badder. Example - The Dark Elves are fighting a Civil War against the High Elves, ergo the High Elves must’ve done something bad, really bad, in the first place to make the Dark Elves want to rebel. Alot of the Order’s races are morally ambiguous. Like the Dwarves who are so, how can I put this?… Emo, that they drown their sorrows with alcohol powerful enough to fuel tanks, and hold grudges deep enough to last as long as their empire has stood. Or the Witchhunter who without question can use excessive force on the citizens of Altdorf to gain simple peices of information. And that’s just like…oh well… the Horde.Moral Ambiguity breeds character. Destruction can come in droves and level Altdorf to the ground, but there’s always the possibility that left to it’s own devices the Empire would’ve crumbled under the weight of it’s own personal problems anyway. Like perhaps, say an Emperor who’s fine with being the literal god to all of his people. The Shards of Alara Spoiler was completed the other day. And it certainly looks like an interesting set. I’m not sure how I’m going to use the cards from the new block, I’ve never weilded 3-colour cards before… successfully. I hope though, that in the remaining sets in the block will continue the theme of the shards as individuals, and not go all Ravnica on us. “LOL NO MORE PROPER BOROS CARDS IN GUILDPACT!” “FUCK THE LORWYN TRIBES! IT’S ABOUT HYBRID ALLIANCES NOW!!!”. You see what I mean. I want Grixis cards in the next set and in the set after that. The question I’m asking myself right now, In light of recent events, I’m wondering where I will go for the prerelease/release events. If I will even go at all. And when will my Reflecting Pools arive? It was announced yesterday that Criterion’s method for retroactively scanning your Burnout Paradise game save, then unlocking all the Trophies you deserve… flopped. People are pretty pissed, which just goes to show, that Trophies are starting to matter. I’m sure that a year from now we won’t have these sort of problems. Right now, there’s so few games worth playing on the PS3, but in the future, as long as sony enforces it, I doubt that there will be an important game released without tropy support from the beginning.Right now I own 4 proper PS3 games, I’ve played more, but the more have sucked ass so much they turn into trade-in monies. Half of those 4 now have trophy support. Wipeout HD - which I bought today via PSN - has Trophies (and all the other sweet PS3 features that all the other PS3 games should have), and so does Burnout Paradise now. Eye of Judgement has Trophies on the way, or so we’re told. And no one seems to be questioning why MGS4, game #4, doesn’t seem to have trophies, let alone any kind of content patch, on the way.So in order to test the “Fun-ness” of the PS3’s Trophy system, In a bold move I deleted my old Burnout Paradise game save - Which was very near complete to being with. I’ll see how well this goes over at the weekend, same for Wipeout HD - if it ever finishes downloading that is.The other reason behind my lack of posts is that there wasn’t really any decent news going about that I wanted to hit on. But I think I’ve found somethings to comment on for today’s post.So good news for everyone, J-Tizzle has been disbarred. There’s lots of big wordy words over on Kotaku and Gamepolitics, but basically, he got pwnt. Are we finally free from Jack’s douchebaggery? or is this just a chance for a greater, more powerful, phil collin’s level of douche to take his place. Only time will tell I guess. We may have won the battle, but the war has just begun. There’s going to be a “Gamer’s Cut” - Like a Director’s cut, but for…gamers - on the Max Payne movie DVD, says the movie’s director. Ok… sure. I’m still going to go see it when it hits the screen in October. I guess now there’s a reason to rent the Blu Ray when it comes out. Come on, like there isn’t going to be one. Info HERE.Bungie has a teaser up for the infamous new game they’re working on. Though New game might be a bit of a stretch, TAKE A LOOK. My impression - It’s a new campaign mode that follows the story of some random dude, somewhere else in the world whilst the original Halo 3 story is happening. Or it’s set in a future, several years after Halo 3, when humans have managed to integrate some of the forerunner tech into their own - hence the teaser interface being similar to some of the Forerunner’s screen-tech. Might also have something to do with the Orbital drop ship troops you see as AI partners in the old campaign. It will probably be expensive, like 1600 points, but you’ll get the new map pack with it that’ll be out the same day, along with a new version of forge. Well, based on what I’ve hypothesised, I’m in.Left 4 Dead System Specs - I can run it, can you?WHAT WON’T HE DO!?!?!?! TELL MEE!!!If the ‘rents remain as occupied as they said they’d be this weekend, I aim to play alot of Burnout Paradise, Wipeout HD, Halo 3 (for the new Achievements etc.) and ofcourse, a hell of alot of WAR. Something makes me think that won’t go as smoothly as I think it will. Oh… And watch Cloverfield on Blu-Ray, which is my first official Blu-Ray purchase ever. And No… I’m not in Fundee right now. The current plan is as follows - 1. Jorb 2. Monies 3. ???? 4. Profit. I know I should talk about it, but considering there’s no good news on the matter, I don’t really want to. Final Lulz. There is a seed
